What is the difference btwn a zoologist and a naturalist in terms of job description?

  1. Zoologists focus on animals (but many have to study plants that are food sources for animals) while naturalists cover a more broad range of lfe including plants and fungi.  But also, naturalists are often very skilled at identification and making observations but don't necessarily involve themselves in experimentation.


  2. In a few words, a zoologist limits his study to animals while a naturalist studies zoology, botany, geology, ecosystems etc. So a naturalist covers a broader spectrum of subjects.
