What is the difference (if any) between an herbal extract and herbal tincture?

Tincture can be made at home by soaking leaves in alcohol or glycerine for 2 weeks, straining out the herb and storing in glass dropper bottles. (Roots & seeds take 3 weeks.)

Extract is made in a factory by a similar method but with mechanical stirring and a powerful press at the end of the time period. It's stronger than homemade so you take smaller dose.

Some extracts are also made into a powder so they can be encapsulated.
