What is the difference in a settlement for a rear ended auto accident and fender bender?

I was rear ended here in california and I don't know if my settlement will fall into a statute of limitation on amounts to be paid for such accidents.

  1. I was rear ended in a similar situation.

    2 years is Missouris statue of limitations - which is nice that we have time to get more $ out of them for pain & suffering - but not so good as I may not have a car for that long.

They don't assign value as to where you were hit, if you aren't at fault you will get whatever the cost is to repair, or in the case of a total loss, fair market value assuming the at fault party has insurance that has accepted fault.  I really don't understand the question about statute of limitation.
