  1. I shall try to explain the difference between information and Knowledge and when/how an information becomes part of our knowledge with reference to Surah Al-Takathur.

Verse 1: The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you.

Verse 2: Until you visit the graves.

Verse 3: But no, you shall soon know (the reality).

Verse 4: Again, you soon shall know.

Verse 5: Were you to know with certainty of mind, (you would beware),

Verse 6: You shall certainly see h**l-Fire.

Verse 7: Again, you shall see it with certainty of sight.

Verse 8: Then, shall you be questioned that Day about the joy (you indulged in).

Verse 3 refers to knowledge, Verse 5 refers to "haqqul yaqeen" (certainty of mind).  An information is in itself a knowledge. An information may be correct or wrong. "haqqul yaqeen" is more than knowledge.  It is a stage when we believe that it is true.  Verse 7 refers to "ainul yaqeen (certainty of sight)".   "Ainul yaqeen" is a stage stronger than "haqqul yaqeen".   When we see a thing/an event with our naked eye our belief becomes more strong and unalterable.

In this Surah Allah draws our attention to h**l fire.  Similarly, it is true with all other things/events.

  2. I lost all my knowledge by reading this question.....

  3. information is a certain knowledge gained, but knowledge is an accumulation of the information with time, and Haq al yaqeen is a knowledge approached by a methodical scientific based doubt, not by inherited arbitrary information, and who reaches the level of Haq al yaqeen he must be an erudite person, and i think he would fear Allah (swt) alone as a result,,

"And of men and beasts and cattle, in like manner, divers hues? The erudite among His bondmen fear Allah alone. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Forgiving." (Fatir 35:28)

  4. In my opinion having knowledge shows that one has some depth of intelligence and understanding of information.

  5. Information is a mixture of 'correct information' & 'misinformation'---whereas, knowledge is knowing the correct information.
