I have an old Mercedes 207 D that I run on a mix of plant oil and diesel. If the plant oil is $115 a litre and diesel is $1.50 a litre, will I actually save money by using plant oil?? I have heard there is a difference in energy output between the two. Can someone please clarify for me?

  1. Biodiesel has about 90% of the BTUs of petrodiesel.  Some cars and trucks will get a little better performance with biodiesel because of its lubricating properties while others will lose a little fuel efficiency.  Realistically there is not much difference.

  2. I get 2 mpg more out of wvo,and lower rpms by 300 at 85 mph.
