I would like to watch two or three kids from my home but don't know if their are any laws or guidlines you have to follow. Would it be the same as the guidlines for a daycare, what are the differences and laws?

  1. It varies from State to State. All limit the number you can watch without a license. For instance, in NY anyone who watches three or more children for three or more hours has to have a license. Contact the office in your State which regulates child care for information.

  2. you get big enough you'll need to get licensed, or if you encounter someone who is receiving help from the welfare, they may demand that you get state licensed!

  3. Depends on your state.  In NC you can only watch 2 children not related to you without being licensed.  You can then be licensed for 5,8, 12, or 15.  I have been licensed for 5 and later moved up to 12.  There are different requirements for each.  You will have the help of CCRI if you are licensed, and you will have more people willing to come to you.

  4. different states have different laws regarding child care standards, in TN you can keep 4 unrelated with no license, check with your Department of Children's Services

  5. There are definite laws around childcare. Depending on the state in which you live, you may need a license. Check with your local Community Care Licensing Division.

  6. i hate my life.

  7. Call the licensing devision of your local DHS-department of human services, they are the ones who have all the guidelines concerning daycare as well as home daycare.

  8. at home u probabaly don't get paid as much and u watch a whole bunch of different kids at daycare and it probably seems like there is new people going there everyday @ daycare!!!
