  1. A bass guitar is just a bigger version of a regular guitar with less strings.

    The bass produces lower frequencies, and a regular guitar a much higher and wider range of frequencies.

    A woofer or sub-woofer is necessary to accurately reproduce a bass, while the ordinary guitar operates more in the mid and high ranges.
