What is the difference in the composition of multi-cat litter in comparison to the regular clumping kind?

The 'cheap' gray stuff is great for soaking up oil spill in the garage. Sprinkle it on, let it set over night, then sweep up the next day. Nary a stain is left.

Well, if you have many cats they p**p and pee alot so.... the multi cat litter has Stronger scent but it doesnt smell like anything than the

regular one the regular one stinks if u have 1 cat and use it

Marketing.  I have multiple cats, and have not seen any difference in the results in the clumping litter between the multi-cat formulations and regular cat formulations.  There perhaps is an implied claim of better odor control, but if buried, there is no difference anyway.  And if they don't bury their solid output, it can't matter.

Some brands do clump harder than others, so in that case, there are differences between brands.
