What is the difference of a nobleman's son or daughter's life to a serf's?

  1. Serfs worked really hard for their living, and often had to pay exhorbitant taxes for the noble's to finance wars and bad habits, etc.

    Noble youngsters didn't, really.  The men had to fight in the army, but they didn't really work.  Women spent a lot of time doing things like making music and doing needlework.

    Serfs married among serfs, and often had the right to marry for love.

    Nobles had no concept of marriage for love.  They married for land and money.

    Men who didn't have inheritance often had to go into the church or army.

    Women who didn't marry, had to join a convent.

    Not a lot of freedom anywhere among any of teh people.
