  1. I think it's sweeter to greet a person with their name. I like it.

  2. Saying "hello" implies that it is either more casual. If you were to say "hello john" then it would probably be more serious, or in a larger group, and you are interested only in talking to john.

  3. using their name makes it more personal, tell you what most people like the sound of their name and the fact that people remember them.

  4. Hello alone is less friendly.  If you use a person's name you indicate to them that you have remembered them since you last met.  I always feel embarrassed when I do this, because I only do it if I don't like the person, or have forgotten their name. Either way, it always looks to the other person as if you are being unfriendly.

  5. Well in terms of Hello...Hello is a quick greeting usually given to someone as you pass them by. Hello is intended as a quick :yes I see you now move!

But when you add a persons name Such as Hello John, then you are showing some sort of : yes I see you and I remember you.  To add a name kind of leaves an open conversation, ppl will want to stop to talk because you simply said their name.

Its kind of like.. "Hello, nice weather we are having". Yes it is...then they keep walking.

OR Hello John, nice weather we're having", Yes Bob its lovely weather today.

Its more proper i guess im trying to say and will give you a more proper response in return.

  6. c**p ! i just think its the way u greet people, it really doesnt matter if u use the name or dont use it while greeting. Havent u heard of people bowing , embracing, a handshake in some cultures to greet ? Dont break ya head for it :)

  7. it makes it more personal when you say their name

  8. I think using a person's name when you address them makes it more personal and makes them feel like you are more connected. It also adds a more personal element to the conversation and engages the person's interest.

  9. my mom thinks you make the person feel better when you say there name

  10. People appreciate to be noticed or remembered. So a greeting with the name always feels good.

  11. It's USUALLY going to get into a more serious conversation with the name.
