  1. Well, all the guff above notwithstanding, the DH 82 was built by De Havilland ( I think 'de Havilland' was the name of the family but 'De Havilland'  was the name of the company, but if anyone knows better I'll concede the point)

Stampe was a Belgian company and the SV4 was uncannily similar to the Tiger Moth but there is no direct relationship between the two types that I know of - although the original SV4 used a De Havilland engine I believe.

It is very hard to distinguish one from the other but the key differernce is the tailfin and rudder. The Moth is more swept back like an oval at 60ish degrees whereas the Stampe fin  is larger and the rudder more round.

  2. It's Stampe, not Stamp. Very similar to the Tiger Moth but they are not at all identical. It's like saying that a Boeing 737 looks identical to an Airbus 320.

  3. One is a great British machine designed to train our glorius pilots ( Tiger Moth ) and the other is a machine built by vile Huns and their associates.

  4. In my copy of "Biplanes, Triplanes, & Seaplanes," I fond the  'de Havilland D.H.82a Tiger Moth'       But no "Stamp Aircraft" Never heard the name before. Sorry I can"t be more help.
