What is the difference between

Royal Mail 1st Class Standard

&

Royal Mail Special Delivery (TM) Next Day

They both send in 1 working day.

Special delivery is guaranteed next day delivery (before 1pm) and the package is insured. Proof of posting and receipt.

1st class is not guaranteed next day delivery - no signature is required from recipient therefore no proof of receipt although you can get a receipt as proof of posting.

If the letter/package is important then use special delivery.

Royal Mail 1st Class Standard: is just normal posting of a package/letter that is delivered in usually one day (but royal mails small print reads that it can take up to 3days)

Royal Mail Special Deliver: the package/letter is logged and can be tracked by the sender, and also has to be signed for on delivery.
