  1. An assistant teacher is a teacher. They can plan curriculum,  and help make the decisions of the classroom. A teacher's aid, is just that, there to aid when the teacher needs help.

  2. There is no difference if your understanding is to assist the teacher but the qualification may varies according to the school's  preferences hiring them. Assistant Teachers are preferably into education and knows the principles of teaching and most probably teachers themselves but are starting or has lesser qualification or experiences from the teacher she is assisting. Teacher's Aid can also be teachers according to the school preference but has attain lower educational standard or must have come from various courses with the intention of pursuing the position.

  3. I'm a Title I paraprofessional at an elementary school in Michigan.  They just changed our titles to Instructional assistants.  We used to be called teacher aides.  I guess there isn't really a difference - just the name change.  However, in order to get a job as an instructional assistant now you have to have at least 90 credit hours at a four-year university...the no child left behind act says we all have to be highly qualified now!  Hope this helps!

  4. An assistant teacher is A TEACHER and has a teaching degree.  A teachers aid is not a teacher.
