What is the different between some processor?

what is the difference between core 2 dual,dual core,quad core? or some other processor?

More cores mean more multi tasking. Take for example, instead of one person doing 2 things at one time, you can have 2 people doing 1 thing each. Get it?

the more cores a processor has the better it is at multitasking.  a core 2 quad with the same clock speed of a core 2 duo would be faster (in multithreaded applications) because of the 2 extra processing cores.
