What is the different...?

...between Reading comprehension and Literary analysis. I thought they have the same meaning but when I took this test, I scored low on reading comprehension but decent on Literary analysis.

  1. Probably just statistics playing out.  Judging by the "different between" you scored poorly overall.


  2. Reading comprehension is if you understood the facts of the reading.  Literary analysis is if you were able to make conclusions or inferences based on the reading.  

  3. I imagine that reading comprehension is more technical - understanding words, sentence patterns, grammar, etc. Literary analysis is more about critical thinking and being able to analyze the value and meaning of what you're reading and not just under its literal and technical aspects.
