The 747-400 is no more nor less "ordinary" than any other typical large jet airliner of today.  It's just another model.

your Q is hard to comprehend, because you place a p on the series 400 (B747-400p) the second thing is your comparison is an ordinary jet? What jet? A small jet? Because a 747 is a Big jet.Do you mean the B747 classic or series 200.

B747-400 flies EFIS (Electronic Flight Instrument System) and has a glass cockpit.

It has an APU (PW901A) that can start all 4 engines at the same time (but to prolong APU life pilots start 2 engine start only). So make your Q clearer so that my answer is more definitive to your Q.
