What is the differnce in Thunderstorms?

I see on the weather channel that there's ISOLATED Thunderstorms and SCATTERED Thunderstorms..what is the difference?

  3. It kind of explains itself. An isolated TS is usually just a smaller cell that is isolated in one specific area. While scatered TS's are usually larger cells spread across a wider or scattered area.

  4. Isolated means that only one area of the region will have a thunderstorm.  Scattered means that several, random areas of the region with experience thunderstorms.
