  1. Optical zoom is the same kind of zoom as on a film camera.  It gets closer without losing resolution.  A digital zoom basically just crops the photo as you're taking it.  It reduces the quality of the photo, but can still be helpful if you need it.


  2. A digital zoom can go way farther than an optical. Optical is just a regular zoom but with my digital I can zoom in a something really far away.  

  3. Digital zoom is "fake" zoom. It makes the picture bigger but with loss of resolution.

    Optical zoom is real zoom. The picture is bigger and the resolution is still good.
