I know that a pair of skis normally comes with a slalom ski but is that the same as one you would buy seprate? why is the pair normally cheaper than the one slalom ski alone?

  1. The slalom ski that comes with the set of skis is made the same as the other ski, but the slalom ski that comes by itself, like a Conley or O'brien is a competition water ski and it cuts better. Also, the pair of skis is normally cheaper because it might not be the same name brand and the one ski is a competion one like I stated before.

  2. a combo pair is an entry / intermeidate level pair of skis that allow you to start on 2 and progress to slalom. the ski meant for the slalom will have a rear toe piece rather than a more enclosed toe binding. that way you can learn more than 1 method for a slalom deep water start.  most skiiers will enjoy a ski with more width ( a combo will be wider) , where most advanced level skiiers will not. when you choose a blank advanced level ski you also have your choice of boots/bindings (dbl high-wraps, front binding/rear toe, front high-wrap/rear toe). combos come one way, no choice. the materials used to make the ski and also design developments are really what sets the single slalom apart from combos. the side cut of the ski will determine the turning radius - mix that with fin adjustments and you better be ready to hang on for the ride!

  3. a single slolam ski's boot is better and it is better quality
