  1. Run a ground.

Refers to a boat that is in water that is too shallow for it so it's bottom has hit the ground/ seabed / river bed.

Sink. this when the captain takes his boat home and washes it in the kitchen sink!

Sink, it sinks!! Goes to the bottom of the sea/ river, the water is deeper than the height of the boat see above run aground.

Flounders. it gets into difficulty in shallow water but does not necessarily run aground.if the engines ail it still floats but can not be controlled, it flounders not found 'ers!

Clear now are we? Look up Titanic.

  2. Run aground is like it sounds your afloat but you hit the bottom. sink is just that your boat is under water gone! Founder is when the boat sinks because water gets in faster than it can pump it out. how it gets in is by open hatches or open valves ,broken windows, etc etc.

  3. absolutely nothin honey

  4. foundering is like when your engine cuts out and a storm smashes you up against some exposed rocks,,,,and you are thrown overboard,,, and yu dont make it.

  5. Previous answers are mostly correct, but foundered is where the boat is mostly filled with water and not quite sunk yet. Ususally the term capsized would come before this point.
