What is the diffrence between vista home basic and vista business?

my current operating system is vista. i am a student as of right now. and my laptop sucks. and i cant use any of my system recovery stuff. i cant create system restore discs. and i was wondering if i should change to vista business?

The price for both products are different. Home Basic is 199.95 and Business is 299.95. Business is not needed unless you are using it for a business, hence the name. Only big difference a typical user would see is Windows Aero, which is a graphical user interface that Home Basic does not have.

The biggest difference is the price.  $299 v $199.  Have you installed service pack 1 for Vista yet?  Also, if you are running less than 1GB of RAM, no Vista will run satisfactory.  I installed 2GB as soon as I got my first Vista system.  Vista Business won't help your system run any better, in fact, it will run worse, considering Business uses more resources.  Reinstall your current OS, add some memory and make sure your have service pack 1 installed.  If you want to compare, go to:
