What is the diffrence in xanax and valium?

whats the diffrence? I use to take a xanax when i was younger and have a few drinks and be able to hang out, can i do the same with valium or will that just knock me out?

  1. xanax is used to treat moderate to severe anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and as an add-on  for anxiety associated with clinical depression.

    Valium, on the other hand, is commonly used for treating anxiety, insomnia, seizures, alcohol withdrawal, and muscle spasms.

    While both medicines usually calm and "relax" a person, Valium is more likely to make you sleepy, and have several other sleepy associated side effects.

    Neither drugs should be taken recreationally, or with alcohol.
