  1. nose type and region in which they live... heres some wiki  links

  2. Its easy.If all the bottom teeth are tucked inside the mouth it is

    an alligator..

If its fourth bottom tooth sticks out it is a crocodile...:)

  3. One is they are part of different families. Another reason is the shape of their jaw. Also the placement of their teeth. Here is a good site to find out some more differences.

  4. ok the crocodile has a pointed nose and an alligator has a rounded snout, dont ask how i know this...

  5. There are a few; they live in different places, and when their mouths are closed, you can only see the top teeth of an alligator, but a crocodile, you can see some bottom teeth as well.

  6. i know the width of their snouts is different. the alligator's is wider than the crocodile. the crocs is more needle like.

  7. I live in South Florida, and the external difference is the shape of the animals' mouths.  The alligator has a broader, more rounded snout, while the croc has a more tapered one.  The salt-water croc of Australia is much, much bigger than an alligator, but they live 13, 000 miles apart.

  8. The first difference between a crocodile and an alligator is that they are from different families of crocodilians. Crocodiles are from the crocodylidae family, while alligators and caiman are from the alligatoridae family.

In terms of physical differences the easiest way to tell the difference between the two is that a crocodile has a very long, narrow, V-shaped snout, while the alligator's snout is wider and U-shaped. Because of the wide snout of the alligator it packs more crushing power to eat prey like turtles that constitute part of its diet. The narrow crocodile snout, although still very powerful, is not really suited for prey like turtles but is very versatile for fish and mammals.
