  1. first of all we must know the distance formula it is (x2-x1)2+(y2-y1)2[note that 2 here is whole square] and the entire equation will be under root.your coordinates are A(-7,6) B(-1,1) so x2 will be -1 and x1 will be -7. y2 will be 1 and y2 will be 1.so solving the equation you will get the answer 7.8016....,but going by your question the answer would 8(approximately)

  2. - 7 - (-1) = -6

    6 - 1 = 5

    -6^2 + 5^2  = 36 + 25 = 61

    The square root of 61 is 7.8

  3. Distance Formula between two points.

    d = sqrt( (x1-x2)^2 + (y1-y2)^2 )

    x1 = -7, x2 = -1

    y1 = 6, y2 = 1

    d = sqrt( (-7 - (-1) )^2 + (6 - 1)^2 )

    d = 7.8
