  1. Iskandariyah is about 20 miles south of Baghdad.  Click on the google link for a map of the two cities.

Forward Operating Base Kalsu, or FOB Kalsu is a U.S. Military instalation in Iskandaria, Iraq, 20 miles south of Baghdad.  I'm thinking Iskan is at Iskandaria also, hence the spelling similarities.

1.Wikipedia is a good source.  It has a search box on the mid-left hand side of all it's "billion" pages.

2.Google Maps is a good source.  Type Iraq or a city in the box and it will take you there.  Or copy and paste the coordinates from Wikipedia (that is how I found Iskandaria, Iraq).  Google's map site:

  2. 1. The correct name is Al Iskandariyah.

    2. The distance from this town to downtown Bagdad is 29.53 miles, or 43.52 kilometer, "as the crow flyes"

    3. For an instant look of every place on earth, and the distances involved, have Google Earth installed in your PC, it´s free.
