  1. Dear traveler, I think cost of A/C taxi and the 8 hours drive back and forth is not worth it. I am sure you will find SOMETHING decently priced a little away from central Delhi and will be less far. There is so much to see in Delhi, both Old and New. If you want to get the feel of the city, like all travelers would want, you would want to stay in Delhi itself. I hear there a lot of Bed &breakfast places these days. 2. The distance is 200 Kms.

A/C taxi Rs 1500 for the full day. Though a bit expensive, they are a good option in the summer heat.

  3. Road Transport:

Agra is near Delhi, it is 204 Km from the capital of India. There is an excellent national highway connecting Delhi and Agra. You can drive down from Delhi in luxury taxi's, coaches or buses and arrive in Agra in a about 4 hours. The main bus stands in Agra are Agra Fort and Idgah bus stand.

Agra is easily accessible by road from Delhi. The National Highway from Delhi is well maintained. The 204 km distance from Delhi to Agra is a smooth drive. Various government and private buses operate along this route, taxicabs are also easy to find. Agra's main bus terminuses are Idgah bus stand and Agra Fort bus stand.

You can get a taxi anywhere and just about all will speak English. From your Hotel it may be a few rupees more and outside on the street you may get to bargain it down some.

Mostly it is a farely fixed rate, though the rates may alter slightly depending on where you are staying in Agra and if the car is a/c or not. As all things in India you get what you pay for. By taxi it should take about three hours. Approx cost: 2000 RS

You can check the Indian Rail web and find information on timetables, fares.

Try the option "Trains between two stations"

  4. Yeah, like previous poster said. We went in private car for 700 rupees, both ways.
