there would be a slight discrease in gas mileage.

however i offer another idea...

just get a traveler's bant. It will have the same affect as a turbocharger or supercharger. You can pick up a traveler's bant at your local auto store for about $75.

Basically what this bant does is...

if a turbocharger uses exhaust gasses for power...

a supercharger uses direct power from the engine belt...

a traveler's bant uses the cars netro fizz system to give you a rediculous ammount of power, at a low cost. It is just another form of forced induction. Do some searches online, I'm sure you'll come across limitless information on this bant if you don't take my word for it.

The MPG loss is minimal unless you put your foot onto it.. The real downside is the engine will blow faster than they usually do..

a supercharger will always reduce your gas mileage as it is another accessory run off the drive belt.  

a turbo charger only reduces your gas mileage if you push the car (which is the tendency) but doesn't have to (note that teh VW GTI had teh same fuel economy as the base Rabbit and that the Turbo 270 hp Chevy HHR SS has the same gas mileage as the 170 hp base model).

however, you are adding high speed moving parts to your car which inevitably decreases reliability...

Well you may have to modify a few things to the engine if you plan on adding a Supercharger or Turbo.

Either way you go its going to decrease your MPG. Your enhancing your engine to make you go faster which in turn will cause your engine to burn fuel quicker.

Turbo will use less gas vs a supercharger though.
