I'm a driving instructor. !7 in the UK, 16 if you are responsible for someone who is disabled.

look up dvla website "rules for learner drivers" near the top of the page. its 17 at the moment, u can apply for yr provisional in april 2010 and start driving on yr bday in 2010. theres talk of it going up to 18 but at the moment its still 17. hope this helps

Most states are 16 to get a driver's license (most are provisional license) before that age, its a driver's permit (usually as young as 14 can get a permit)

The driving ages in the UK haven't changed in years & ARE NOT GOING TO!!!!

You can ride a moped at 16.

You can drive a car, van or ride a motorcycle at 17.

And for those answering 'in x*x state', the clue is in the question - the DVLA is the Driver & Vehicle Licencing Authority in the UK. That's how we know when y'all ask a question referring to states, permits, or the DMV, you're in the US. Pretty simple really.

If nothing changed in the ages, then you can get your provisional for your car, Learn to drive, pass your test and go out on your own on a full driving lic all at 17.

it has recently gone up to 18, so u will need to apply for ur provisional license 3 months (ish) before ur 18th birthday. hope this helps :)

The permit age is 15.

License age is 16 but you can't take any friends with you for 6 months only family members.
