What is the drug remeron and what is it used for ?

I know this is a drug but what is it used for and what does it do?

A noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSAs), basically increases seritonin and noradrenaline.

I'm a psych RN, it is an antidepressant that is often used to help people sleep (usually taken in addition to a newer atypical antidepressant like Paxil or Zoloft) but the Remeron is taken at night specifically to help you doze off as it is sedating (and you get the additional help with the depression)..and it is non-addictive which is a concern with other sleep meds.
