  1. Opening your fast

    اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْتُ وَ عَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ وَ عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ

    Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa 'ala rizq-ika aftarthu

    (O Allah! I fasted for You and I believe in You and I break my fast with Your sustenance)

    Ameer ul mominnen's Ali Ibn Abi Talib (as) Dua

    بِسْمِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْنَا وَ عَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْنَا فَتَقَبَّلْ [فَتَقَبَّلْهُ‏] مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

    The first morsel when your eating

    بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ يَا وَاسِعَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ اغْفِرْ لِى

    (O Allah! I fasted for You and I believe in You and I break my fast with Your sustenance)[abu Dawud]

    As for the Dua “Allaahumma laka sumtu wa – ‘ala Rizqika Aftartu”

    (O Allaah! For You I have observed fasting and with Your provisions do I break my fasting)

    The correct dua to break the fast it

    “Dhahaba adh – dhama’u wab – tallatil – ‘urooqa wa thabatal – ajru in shaa’ Allaah”



    (The thirst has gone, the arteries are moist, and the reward is set, Allaah willing)
