The duties of Prime Minister depends upon constitution provision of that country however in India Our PM is performing two duties with great enthusiasm

1. Keeping pleased and smiley to madam Sonia on all account instead Indians.

2. To Protect the corrupt Politicians and Administrators.

You didn't specify the country. It differs in different countries. But i am not bothered because i will never become a prime minister.

The prime minister forms the govt, based on elections of the lesislature i.e. house of commons.  He is then head of the govt. and formultes policy

it verys from country to country but under the Westmister system the Prime Minister has much of the same duties as a countries like the USA that just have a president.
