  1. I think laughing, much like crying when in pain or jumping when suprised, is instinctual. I think that humor, however, is contextual. What you find funny depends on a lot of different things such as a culture, values, morals/ethics, region, etc.

  3. In all probability, all organisms with cognitive ability probably have some form of humor. We really would have no way of knowing if a cave-drawing was a joke or not. Knowing that would require vast knowledge of a culture that we know little about. However, there are some "jokes" that can be found in some Egyptian carvings.

  4. in 1492 there was 2 natives on a hill watching the mayflower drop anchor, with a bunch of foreigners. 1 native said lets go down there and kill them! then the other native said no lets let them stay for awhile, what harm can they do.

  5. have you never watched the Flintstones?

  6. Moses was the first recorded case of stomach upset ... he took two tablets and went into the bushes

  7. "Ug, ug."

    "Ug ug ug?"

    "Ug ug OOOHG ug!"

    "Ha ha ha ha ug!"

  8. Can you imagine what they thought was funny?

"Looks like Imgah is s******g an old dinosaur again...I wonder why he keeps picking the ugly ones?"

  9. why did the dinosaur cross the road?

    what's a road?

c'mon, as if they could help themselves laughing when someone fell into a tarpit or got mauled by an animal.  it always takes a little while to ask if someone's ok.

  10. No humor at all. Look at how they don't get those Geico ads! :)

  11. Even chimps have a sense of humor.
