Do you think it is ridiculous to try to potty train a 15 mos. old? I have two older boys who were almost 3 before fully potty trained, however I think my 15mos. old girl might catch on earlier. Is this too early. I think she is really smart (as I'm sure every mom thinks their child is), but is this too early? I put her on the potty randomly and she clapped and loved it, but didn't go. Then I put her on right after a nap, because I knew she would pee soon after a nap, but she cried and I didn't keep her there. What do you think?

  1. if she wants to go to the potty let her do it after nap time or before a bath but if she is crying it doesnt sound like she wants to all the time so just let her when she wants to this makes her comfotable with sitting on the toilet

both my children 1 boy 1 girl were 2 when they started potty training

they started by sitting on the toiet but not actually going then they started going

but i think she is a bit to young but you know your child better then anyone

  2. I started potty training my daughter on her second birthday, she was potty trained completely in 2 weeks. I either got really lucky or she just wanted to learn really bad. lol. I think if a child is showing interest in anything, there is no reason not to try it out, but with her age I wouldn't expect it to happen over night. There is nothing wrong with feeding her curiosity, just take it slow, you don't want to scare her out of it.

And BTW Amy is full of it...not like anyone needed to be told.

  3. You wait for so long??? I also think it's ridiculous to potty train the child later than 18 months old. When my 4-month-old twins pee or poo, I hold them in a reclining position over the potty. When they start walking, they would know they have to go there when they feel the need. The same way were my brothers, my sisters and many babies I know (friends' kids) been potty trained successfully with no problems. Most of them stay dry all night before they are 1 year old. And yes, I succeed. I do it for a week now and the babies are already waiting (holding it for a while) until I take the potty.

  4. I started potty training my son at 18 months and by the time he turned two he was fully trained.
