I can find it on H20 and other cycles, but nothing on amount, or time concerning CO2. Have they done any studies?

  1. If you're talking about atmospheric lifetime, it's very variable for CO2 because it's exchanged with reservoirs having a wide range of turnover times.  The IPCC estimates the atmospheric lifetime of CO2 anywhere from 5 to 200 years.

  2. I think what you are looking for is called the carbon cycle. Which includes compounds, of which there are many. At least 10 million in existence, and 100 x that many in theory. The sheer abundance of it, makes the cycle extremely difficult to determine. The transitory nature of it to form compounds, also makes time lines difficult to establish. The best way to look at it, is as energy. Carbon/co2 plays a important role in the production of cellular respiration among other processes. Yes many environmental studies have been done, but most are incomplete processes. That is the full cycle has yet to be determine.
