  1. most dslr cameras have a full auto mode where you just point and shoot. simple. easy. can be fun.

but dont expect great photos if thats what you do. the most important part of any camera is the photographer!

  2. Probably the best and easiest DSL-R would be the nikon D40 or the nikon D40x. Both are basically the same, just the D40x had 10.2 mega-pixels and the D40 has 6.1

They have auto settings as well as manual and a few others like action, macro, night-shot, portrait, etc... It's a great camera to start with because you can start with auto then switch to use manual and play with  the settings and get some really cool shots.

  3. All nikon cameras are the easiest to use. From the coolpix to the D40, it is all just point and shoot.

p.s. It might be the easiest, but doesn't nessacerily produce the best shots. I'd say go with the Canon Rebel, they take great shots and so-so easy to use.

  4. I have the Canon Rebel XTi and it is easy to use.  Fully automatic when you are learning, and fully manual once you are familiar with the camera.  It's been out  for two years and has been a popular and reliable camera.  It has 10MP.
