  1. Hi, as other users wrote you can take the direct train from the Fiumicino airport to the Stazione Trastevere; from then on there's a tram line (# 8 ) that you can take for 4 or more stops;

    depending on the point of Trastevere that you want to reach.

  2. The cheapest way is to get the bus to Lido di Ostia (about €1), the get an ATAC ticket (another €1 ) and get the train to piramidi the go to the metro sation down stairs, get the metro to Termini and change to linia A and get the train going to piaza di argentina, then take a tram to trastvere. ATAC tickets work on trains,the metro, busses and trams for 75 mins from you first use them (if your last journey starts on the 75th min then you are allowed to finnish it)

    So that is the whole journey for €2 each, BUT I DIDNT SAY IT WAS EASY!!!!!LOL

  3. walking

  4. (1) The website referenced below seems to indicate you can now get off the train from Fiumicino airport at "Rome-Trastevere" station - this would be much more direct. However, you should check that this is actually possible, as it wasn't the last time I was in Rome...

    (2) Train from the platform at Fiumicino express to Stazione Termini (AU$20-25 approx), then take bus No. 75 or 170 from Piazza Cinquecento, which is right out the front of the station. Both bus routes terminate in Piazza Sonnino in Trastevere (near the Garibaldi Bridge). Alternatively, take a taxi from the Station - it's not that far, but is a very long walk to Trastevere from the station if you have luggage! Rome has a limited underground metro train system, but as far as I am aware, there is no underground station anywhere near Trastevere.

  5. There's a direct train between Fiumicino airport and Trastevere railway staition. The line is FM1.

    The ticket is very cheap (6-7 euros, I don't remember now....) and is sold in newspaper kiosk, bokshops, bar....

    Here find the link for more informations.

    October is the best period to visit my city... enjoy your holidays!!

  6. There's a train station at Fiumicino airport. Signs in the airport will direct you to the station. One of the trains is the Leonardo Express which is a direct train between the airport and Roma Termini station (not the one you want). The other is the metropolitan FM1 line - there are trains every 15 minutes (30 minutes on Sunday). The 5th stop is Trastavere. There's a timetable here: http://www.adr.it/content.asp?Subc=1363&... or at the Italian train website http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html (enter Fiumicino aero for the starting point and Trastevere as the destination). You can click on any of the four listed destinations to see a schematic of the FM1 line; Roma Tìburtina and the other three are all beyond Trastevere. The ride is 26 minutes and costs 5.50 euro.
