What is the easiest recipe for jello shots?

We were wanting strawberry jello with rum. I just get confused on when to add the liquor. Jello is easy to make, I know, but how many boxes of jello should we get to how much liquor? It is for a party of like 20 people.

What Ialwaysdid was follow the directions on boiling the water & dissolving the jello. Then when adding water & ice to cool, I substitute the liquor (whatever measure the box calls for example one cup) and four ice cubes.

I usally did vodka or everclear.

Depending on what kind of cups you use...I used to snag those little cups fromTaco Cabana and make about 15 for a small box of jello. It really depends on how many a person. Hope this helped.

All the recipes here are correct except for one you do not boil the rum, you need to add it after, like when you would add the cold water!

Curious why are you not using Vodka, this is generally what is used with jello shots!  Never tried it with rum, guess it would be possible!

i bet two boxes of jello will do. i substitute the cold water with the cold alcohol.

so, i think it's something like:

2 cups boiling water

1 cup cold water (rum)

put ur alcohol in the freezer overnite with the lid slightley loose.then after a few hours of chilling in the freezer make the jello with half of the water called for in the recipe.take it off the heat and let it cool for a minute and then add in the cold alcohol.mix.pour into shotglasses and IMMEDIATLEY chill.once it sets ur good to go :]and with 20 people gun for 2 or 3 boxes of jello depending on how smashed u want to get

I can't tell you how many boxes of Jello you should get.  But I can tell you that you should follow the recipe on the box.  Instead of the cold water, you should use cold liquor.  I would recommend that you put your rum in the freezer.  It tends to work better than if it was just in the refrigerator.

all you do is just substitute water for the rum but leave a little water. by the way, i wouldn't use rum if i were you; either vodka or tequila. they'd stand up to that kind of sweetness better. but use cheaper vodka or tequila, the good stuff would be a waste in almost any mixed drinks/shot/jello shot.

Try Barcardi Rum and Strawberry-Banana Jello. It's delicious.  Two boxes of Jello should be sufficient (I'm assuming jello shot aren't the only thing you'll be drinking). Like the other answers stated: follow the receipe on the box, swapping cold water for alcohol.
