What is the easiest was to go from Fort Worth to South Padre Island without a car?

I'm wondering if anyone near these areas know of any bus routes or trains that will take me from Fort Worth/Dallas area to South Padre Island or close to it (Brownsville etc.)

The closest you can get on a train is San Antonio.  You'd then have to switch to a bus.  Barring that, you only really have two options:  Bus or Plane

For buses, you're pretty much stuck with Greyhound (www.greyhound.com).  For planes, there are multiple options.  You can use one of the online travel sites to find the lowest fares such as www.expedia.com, but keep in mind that the airline that's frequently cheapest is Southwest Airlines and their fares are not listed on the internet travel sites.  You must go directly to their own site www.southwest.com to get their fares.

You can do a Greyhound Bus for about $90 each way - to Corpus Christi.  Once in Corpus there is local transportation to South Padre Island.
