My pc when the start up scan disk works, the d drive has 32kb badsector and c drive has 8kb. And I need all what's on the pc.

Another thing is that I have some problems in each folder I enter. When I open it an auto run file appears, and sometimes the name of the folder is inside in another folder as if it was copied inside. Something else every half an hour a workoffline window appears and an internet explorer window open on brontok site

Please help I'm in real danger

  1. You don't just have bad sectors on your hard drive, you also have a virus.

Reformat your hard drive and reinstall your OS...and then don't forget to install an anti-virus.

  2. Step1

Double-click on My Computer to open the My Computer window.

    Step2

Select the disk that you want to diagnose and repair.

    Step3

Choose Properties from the File menu. You should see the Properties window for the drive that you selected.

    Step4

    Choose the Tools tab.

    Step5

Click the Check Now button under Error Checking Status.

    Step6

Depending on your version of Windows, choose either "Thorough" or "Scan for and Attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors."

    Step7

    Click on Start.

  3. Honestly, the best thing is to buy a new hard drive. Bad sectors are trouble.

  4. erase all data;reformate the drives by using an XP or VISTA bootable disk.

  5. Click on the Start button and select RUN.  In the Open box type: CMD.  This will bring up a DOS window. Goto your D drive by typing: D: followed by pressing Enter.

At the D:> prompt type: CHKDSK / F

It will tell you that it can not lock the drive because it is in use. That's normal.  It asks you if you would like to schedule CHKDSK to run at next startup.  Answer Yes and press Enter.

Reboot and it CHKDSK will run prior to entering windows.  Any crosslinks or lost directories are attempted to be corrected.

Do this for C drive as well.

After you have run CHKDSK on both drives, find a copy of Acronis disk image application and make a boot disk with it.  Purchase two new hard drives or one larger one.  Boot to Acronis CD and clone the C disk to the new drive.  Do the same for the D.  You can purchase a large drive and make two partitions so that one drive looks like two.

Formating removes pointers to the bad blocks on the hard drive so that they are not used again but its a foreboding sign of a future disk failure.  Hard drives are cheap these days ($66 for 320 gb) so I would remove the failing hard drive and replace them with a new one.

  6. reset the computer back to a date that you had no problems... go to all programs then click on accessories, system tools then click on? restore. If that don't work start in safe mode and try the same thing go back in the history to a date that you had no problems, good luck

  7. Sounds like you have the Brontok virus and need some AV software to get rid of it.

  8. Back-up your documents and Reformat
