This is a rather large window surrounded by bricks and stone, so I would prefer not to drill anything if I don't have to. I am considering duct taping it all.

  1. You will have to put a 6x4 piece on then a 1 foot piece at the bottom..it would be best to put a 1x4 across the seam if at all possible depending on the depth of the window....just dont leave the crack exposed..The small piece is better at the bottom where it receives slightly less wind.. it will less likely come apart....I lived in the Floriada keys 6 years..and here in the panhandle of Florida for 5 or so... I have been hit direct by a few and brushed by quite a few more totalling 19 altogether

  2. easiest?

dont do it. take your chances.

    best?

its hard to beat plywood. but the best way to secure it is by drilling into the mortar and using the proper concrete anchors and screws. ask for help at your local lowes or home depot if youre not sure.

  3. home depot sells these great little clips if you can still get them their called ply clips no drilling or s******g
