From Charles De Gaulle, take the RER B line into Paris, and transfer to the C line (west) at St. Michel Notre Dame. From there, just keep going until you get to the Champ du Mars Tour Eiffel stop, and you're there.

The Metro and RER trains are really pretty easy to use. Check out http://www.ratp.fr/ -- there are Metro maps there in an easy to read Adobe format.

There is a train station in the CDG airport.  Take the RER B to St. Michel/Notre Dame station and transfer to the RER C and get off at the Champ Du Mars/Tour Eiffel station.  Check the www.ratp.fr web site for a map and more details.

I don't know, but when I went to Mexico I found that for my daughter and I it was cheaper to take the taxi that to buy 2 tickets on a bus. So, if it is going to be more than you going take the taxi.

There is a train from the airport that goes to the tower.  There may be 1 transfer, it was a few years ago.  I purchased an all day train ticket and had a ball.

Try the Paris metro system.
