There are a lot of ways to confront the problem of headlight oxidation. whats the safest and easiest method, and how much time does it take from start to finish?

P.S. My headlights are plastic not glass so toothpaste won't work and using any kind of sandpaper wet or dry of any grit on my projector lens is completely out of the question.

  1. go to your parts retail store and go to the car wax aisle=look for McQUIRES PLASTIC RESTORER comes in a white plastic bottle and i just used it last week==rub it on = rub it off==unbelievable-took less than 5 minutes per lens and they look like new and i think it was under $10

  2. I would just replace them the plastic.  I hate headlight oxidation!

  3. Pittman's Original One Step ALR will remove all oxidation on contact. Its the best option for safe, fast oxidation removal on plastic headlights.

Its both pure liquid and non abrasive.

  4. The easiest way is to have someone else do it.  As for the method, tell them "surprise me."

  5. go to your local car part store.  many of them sell kits for removing the oxidation from plastic headlight covers.

  6. Use an acrylic lens deoxidizer. That will clear them up in seconds.

  7. Use a plastic polish and a soft lint free cloth.  If it's on the inside you'll have to remove the headlight assembly and remove the retention clips and do the same thing.
