  1. look out your windshield...

  2. Look at where  your car is positioned within the lines painted for your lane.

  3. Park your vehicle next to the curb...Get out and see how close you are to the curb...Get back in the car and look at where the curb line meets the front line of the hood...That will indicate how far you are from the line or edge of the road...Use the road line or edge in the same manner.

If you are on a multi-lane highway, you will notice that there is a dark streak that runs down the middle of each lane, at least on concrete...Check your rear view mirror and align that dark streak in the middle of the rear window...This will put you very close to the middle of the lane...Look for similar discoloration on asphalt roads.

A little practice and you'll do it without thinking about it.

    All the best.

  4. Sometimes there are sleep bumps on the outer side for people who may have fallen asleep at the wheel. As for the oncoming traffic, it's all about perception. If your too close you'd almost hit someone, have to swerve, or they'd honk the horn to aware you. If your not ready to drive right, I think it's safe to say I wouldn't do it till your comfortable with it.

  5. try a blindfold. you gotta feel the road!
