Economic development has very little effect on the environment. Place a little money in the bank and in time you can develop quite a sizable nest egg without effecting the environment. On the other hand if you want to develop economically through industry then it depends what industry you choose. Manufacturing can have byproducts that can change the environment. This is where careful planning can minimize the effects. If you can render your byproduct down to state where natural processes can take care of it to where it's nontoxic then you can say you are successful.
