What is the efficient provision of a public good?

I don't get it I thought public good was suppose to be shared thus equally and efficiently divided out to people...

  1. For a good to be considered a public good, it has to be non-excludable and non-rival, e.g. street lights.

    People will not pay for the consumption of a public good, and thus the private sector will not provide it. The government will provide for public goods in taxes.

    of public goods, ex, weather is a public good and is provided by nature

    the air, the sun light etc.
