What is the effort on AC motor of under capacity?

i have 4 kw motor and 3.7kw of invertor

which type of problem i have to face to run that above combination also i run the machine on full speed

  1. You will only be able to provide 3.7kw of power to the motor. If you try to provide more, then the inverter will go into current limit and not ramp up to the requested speed.

    There should be no damage because the inverter has its own protection.


  2. You may lose some torque capability. Some drives/inverters can draw more than their rated power, so short times may be OK. Long term max torque could result in overheating of inverter. Better inverter/drive units have overtemp protection or current limits.

  3. Operating the 4 kw motor on an underrated inverter could damage the inverter after a long period of use.
