  1. I live in a very orthodox Jewish neighborhood, I think that in some cases if they think you are not Jewish they are kind of rude to you. I am not part of the orthodox community but my family is Jewish, I think its funny when their rude to me!

  2. The word goy  to be translated like nation or town, by  when one does one makes reference to goyim, means people that is not jewish, that is of another town, it is not for anything offensive or contemptuous as many create, the test this that in we found that word in Torah, by ex when D” s does the promise to him to Avraham that of saldra a great town uses I finish Goi Gadol, and when Moshe raises the Har Sinai to receive Hasheni Lujot Habrit (the two tables, with the ten orders) D” s talks about the Jewish Town as Mamlejet Kohanim sees Goi Kadosh (a Kingdom of Priests and a Nation or Town Santo).

  3. *ish slightly confused* Do you mean do we think of a Christian as a Gentile instead of just a Christian? In that case, yeah, I guess so. I don't know. Depends on the Jew. I suppose I sometimes do. But if you mean, do we label them as that, and use the term offensively, and like...mock them, or whatever, probably not. I've never met another Jew who mocked a Christian for that reason, and I don't.

And as for the Israel question: Heck if I know. I don't live in Israel.

  4. No more nor less than any other group being disrespectful to members not of their group.

    People are people.

  5. Those are just names for non-jews. Jews suffer from prejudice just like everybody else. Enlightened people, jews included, do not indulge in ethnic prejudices all of which are born of ignorance.

Each group has derisive names for members of other ethnic groups. It is unfortunate but common.

As our race evolves this failing will eventually disappear.

  6. I think it is true but not for all Jews. The Talmud says a lot about treating non-Jews unfairly so it isn't just heresay, their reputation tends to precede. The idea that Isrealis treat Arabs equally is a ridiculous lie. They have been racist anti-Semites since the post WW2 invasion of Israel. The history is very clear: Israeli government is very racist.

  7. There is no 'element' of truth.  It's solid truth.  If you are not a Jew then you are a Gentile.

  8. I have never noticed them publicly displaying disrespect for non-Jews.  They certainly aren't alone in having that tradition as a special chosen people as a foundation of their religion.  It is very common in Christians, Japanese, Muslims and probably many others.  It seems to be something many religions write in their code to try to control their members.  The whole idea of a chosen people is one of the lowest forms of propaganda and there is zero truth in any of them.  The Israelis go out of their way to separate religion from their governing and allow Arabs rights of citizens.  It seems to me they keep their opinions to themselves and don't force it on others.
