Coke, Pepsi, Sprite. All are FULL of CO2, so they sparkle and fizz. Either before or after consumption, the carbon dioxide's gotta go back to the atmosphere! How many TONS per day, worldwide?

HOW CAN WE STOP THIS CRIME AGAINST THE PLANET??? ;-}

  1. The CO2 that's used to make soft drinks comes from the air. Open the can, and it goes right back into the atmosphere. All that the can has done has been to store the CO2 for a few months/years.

    What is more concerning is the CO2 that is released from burning fossil fuels. This CO2 has been stored in rocks for millions of years. Humans so far have burnt enough fossil fuels to raise the atmospheric CO2 concentration by over 35%. Also, if you are concerned about carbon footprints, then consider the fuel burned driving those little cans all over the country and to your grocery store.

  2. Word has it that Al Gore's family drinks uncarbonated cola.  I find it rather unenjoyable myself.  But then, so is he.

    So just think...every time you open a soft drink you are contributing to global warming.  At least that is what the theory states.  I'm sure somebody from the left will just decide to tax it more eventually and put the money towards some socialist agenda.

  3. It has been well established that the end products of metabolism of all carbohydrates are carbon dioxide and water.

    Now it so happens that water is more of a greenhouse gass than carbon dioxide itself.  But be that as it may, every time you ask for a Pepsi, 7 UP or a Coke you are contributing to the build-up of those gaseous fumes.  The courts have ruled that carbon dioxide is a waste product.

  4. Do U hate the plant that much. What if the plants quit recycling and starved U from oxygen. CO2 is just part of the natures cycle which the plants need. The plant recycles the CO2 ,to oxygen for us ,but it also recycles our fossil fuel for us.

  5. "Coke is it, things go better with Coke, It's the real thing, Coke."  I

    "I'd like to buy the world a home and furnish it with love,

    Grow apple trees and honey bees, and snow white turtle doves.

    I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony,

    I'd like to buy the world a Coke and keep it company.

    [Repeat the last two lines, and in the background:]

    It's the real thing, Coke is what the world wants today."

  6. This calamady doubtlessly causes tons and tons of CO2 emissions- you are ingenious to notice this devastating issue. The trouble is that the evil big businesses are injecting our water with CO2, adding cheap flavours, and selling it to us at outrageous prices. This is absolute human stupidity.

    We must stop this crime against the planet by ending the oppression of the soft drink companies- we must seize their factories from them and send the soft drinks into outer space in order to prevent further damage to our planet.

    Now, many humans are selfish and will not cope with this necessary sacrifice. They will somehow acquire CO2 from the atmosphere and inject this into their drinks in order to make more polluting soft drinks. We must give them draconian jail sentences.

    Only then will we stop this crime against the planet.
