Because most IF NOT ALL of them are not recycled and not properly disposed of as well as a lot more of the tons of re-usable refuse from the city of London.

See how they collect the papers on the Underground ,etc.

Thanks.

  1. Yes on my way into the city yesterday a cleaner on the train was shovelling them into a bin bag like there was no tommorrow! I wanted to ask her if they were to be recycled, because if not it is outrgaeous that all those thousands of papers are daily being added to landfill sites! I mean there are now 3 free papers being given out daily so this could be a problem if they are not recycled!

    Perhaps a question for ken???

  2. I think they create more mess. I do a night shift and go home on the first trains, which are covered in near enough every seat with them. The content is poor anyway which I suppose it would be for a free paper. When Tottenham went out of the UEFA cup, the game finished after penalties around 10:15pm but the next morning the back page just reviewed the 90 minutes saying how will they fare in extra-time and 'game went into extra time' in italics. The only sport which normal papers fail to report the next day is boxing which may start a 4am so its understandable. Also, I hate when you're walking in London, clearly holding bags and you suddenly hear 'London lite, London lite' with the paper shoved directly in your face. Go away.

  3. First off do not blame it on the public, we do not choose for them to be there, so don't blame the commuters if it ain't recycled. The best way to recycle theses papers from my own experience is not to produce them in the first place because most people just throw them away.
