  1. I believe there are 140,000 Btus in a gallon of oil so that should make it 1.4 Therms

  3. oops, I saved this question, while I researched the question.  It is about 138,000 to 140,000 BTU's per gallon, possibly more. depending on the efficiency of the burned and also if it is maintained, cleaned and the controls are set to specifications.
